Playing in the Rain

You can learn a lot by watching a child play in rain. They don’t care that their clothes are getting soaked. They don’t notice people starring at them. They have no other focus than just enjoying the moment they are in. I think we often take for granted the little moments we are given each day. Our minds get clouded with all the lists of things that ‘have’ to be done. We stress about day to day life, and long for a break-a trip to an exotic place; moving to another country, state, or city; doing something adventurous. But what about the many ordinary things in life? When we stop to look around, to just take things in around us, to forget everything and just play in the rain for a few moments…we find that the ordinary things are really extraordinary gifts from God.
